Leaving for Shanghai that night we had to finish off packing, washing, food shopping and so on. It seemed strange to be saying goodbye to our home of 4 weeks, but we’re both getting itchy feet and felt the need to move on before the call of work would pursue us. We at long last went to a very local Peking Duck restaurant which didn’t disappoint in price or food portions! The duck was different from how we would have it back home in more westernised Chinese restaurants but this place was packed by the time we left so it’s obviously hitting it right with the locals.

At 7pm Frank who’d been our translator a few times came to meet us at the apartment to collect the keys and then we were off. A tube direct to Beijing South and we ended our travels in Beijing exactly where they started.

The sleeper train to Shanghai was very modern in comparison to previous sleepers and we could only get a softsleeper for Shanghai that night so we had to pay more for this. We shared our cabin with a family of 3 and their little girl was really quiet! Early tomorrow we shall be arriving in Shanghai. We are back to traveling!!
